CDJRF service at Bergstrom CDJRF of Kaukauna

Your vehicle is an important investment, and you want to enjoy it for as long as possible. Regular servicing extends the life of your vehicle, as worn parts can be replaced, fluid topped up, and minor issues fixed to prevent future expensive repairs. As your CDJRF dealer, we want to tell you about a few of the types of CDJRF service we provide for your vehicle.

Starter Repairs

When you hit the start button on the dash, the battery sends a powerful electrical charge to the starter solenoid, which powers up the starter. The starter cranks your engine, starting the combustion process and bringing your engine to life. The starter is a robust component, but can still wear out or fail with time. The most common starter problem is a failed starter solenoid.

If the solenoid fails, the electrical charge from the battery won’t pass to the starter and the engine can’t crank. If you hear a slight click when you press the start button, the starter is working but not receiving enough power. If you don’t hear this click, the starter has failed. Our technicians will examine your starter and either replace the solenoid or install a new starter for you to fix this issue.

Air Filter Replacement

The engine air filter traps dust, dirt, and other debris, allowing only clean air to enter the engine. The combustion process requires vast amounts of air, as the perfect air-to-fuel ratio is 14 parts air to one part fuel. Over time, this filter becomes clogged with dirt, and airflow into the engine is severely restricted.

The lack of air in the engine causes increased fuel usage, as much of the fuel won’t burn due to the lack of air. High fuel concentrations create a buildup of carbon in the engine. These can cause engine blockages and coat the spark plugs in sticky carbon, which reduces their service life. We can replace your air filter within seconds, and engine performance will return to normal.

Headlight Replacement

A blown headlight creates numerous problems. It makes it more difficult for you to see the road ahead of you at night and prevents other drivers and pedestrians from clearly seeing your vehicle. In addition, driving with a failed headlight can result in a citation and a fine. The average lifespan of a headlight bulb varies dramatically, from 500 hours to 30,000 hours, depending on the type of bulb you have.

Replacing a bulb is a quick process for our technicians, but we advise replacing both bulbs to save time and costs. Bulbs are installed in pairs, so when one bulb blows, the other will likely follow within days.
